Bank North

A new direction for British banking

Bank North is an exciting new bank which seeks to redefine the way in which businesses source finance.

Gone are the days of the dusty high street bank. ‘Fintech’ is in full swing and the industry has seen much development in both B2C and B2B. Bank North—as the name suggests—were founded in North England with the ambition of connecting businesses to accessible lending solutions, much more quickly than any of the bricks and mortar competitors.

Bank North approached us looking to create a visual brand which aligned to the business’ value proposition whilst setting the standard for their visual language across all marketing channels.

Branding a bank

Very few banking licences are granted each year with each application going through a rigorous process to determine whether it meets the required criteria. We looked to create something timeless yet contemporary.

Adaptable branding

The alignment of the Compass mark was perfectly balanced with the full word mark. This precision and simplicity were integral values carried through the entire brand landscape.

Copy that connects

When it came to tone-of-voice, we were keen not to portray a “northern bank for northern people”. Instead we looked further towards an elevated way of banking, created for those looking for greater standards.

Consistency through all applications

Following the visual design system, we created Bank North’s UX and UI principles for their web and digital communications.
